When is Turkeys for Troops?

The event is always the Friday before Thanksgiving – the 9th Annual Turkeys for Troops will be on Friday, November 22, 2019.

Where is Turkeys for Troops?

At Toyota of Boerne, 31205 IH 10 West (Exit 543), Boerne, TX 78006.

What time is the event?

9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Who is eligible to receive a turkey?

Any active-duty military personnel, retired military personnel or any veterans who have served in the U.S. armed forces.

What if I can’t come that day to pick up my turkey?

Unfortunately, the event is one day only, and we are unable to deliver any turkeys.

Can I pick up a turkey for someone else?

We do ask that all who are able come in-person to receive a turkey so that we may thank you for your service (carpooling encouraged). We understand, however, that in some situations or special cases that may not be possible. Please call Marianne or Darla at 210-870-1875 or email for more information.

Can I set up a table or booth as a vendor/sponsor?

While we appreciate the offer, we do not have any kind of vendor booths or displays at Turkeys for Troops. We feel strongly that this event is a THANK YOU to our military only and not really for any commercial purpose.

How do I volunteer to help?

We welcome help from all who are interested, and we encourage volunteers to carpool to the event.  Please click on the VOLUNTEER link below to sign up for a time to volunteer at the event and thank our men and women in service.

I can’t come to the event or volunteer, but I would like to make a donation – how do I do that?

We thank you and remind you that Turkeys for Troops is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization recognized by the IRS; therefore, your donation is tax-deductible. Please mail a check to the address below or click on the DONATIONS link below to donate using your credit/debit card or PayPal.

What time during the day do you present the mortgage-free home to the veteran?

At 1:00 p.m. we will have a short ceremony to thank all who have helped, to thank our military men and women and to award the mortgage-free home to a veteran.

Do military volunteers have to be in uniform?

You do not have to be in uniform, but if you would like to come in uniform that would be great! You will be on your feet most of the time, so be comfortable. We will have gloves available.

What should the volunteers wear?

It is completely your choice of what to wear, but we encourage you to be comfortable and have on very comfortable shoes as you will be on your feet most of the time. We will have gloves available.

Are food or snacks available?

Our fabulous Parts and Service Departments man the grill from 11 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m. to serve up hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings, along with water and soft drinks. Also, we usually have some breakfast sandwiches or tacos donated for the early volunteers as well as coffee and cocoa.
